I requested an R session (ondemand cluster), specifying both memory and time limits. While the session was successfully created and appeared to be starting, it was directly terminated.

It was related to https://community.france-bioinformatique.fr/t/cpu-node-17-na-pas-acces-a-module/ (your jobs were executed on cpu-node-17 which was in a bad state).
Now your job (RStudio@ondemand) seems to run.
